Museum Imaging

Neil has an extensive experience on all facets of museum object photography, and has photographed for catalogs, web sites and large format display prints in various prestigious international exhibitions. He has also been involved in the imaging of the collection of Mehrangarh museum for many years.

 

Neil managed the transition from film-based documentation to digital in the Asian Art Museum of the Smithsonian for over 20 Years. He adapted techniques for lighting gold and metal objects as well as specialized lighting for photographing paintings and many other 3D objects. He is not only a museum photographer with exacting skills in lighting techniques and correct color balance but is also passionate about photography in general.

Neil Greentree

Documentation & Survey of Painting and Built Heritage

Maniyarasan Rajendran, an architect and photographer, specialises in documenting built heritage. He works as an architectural photographer and visual documentation consultant. He works on projects related to aerial mapping, photogrammetry and technical imaging in architecture/conservation practice. He did B.Arch from SPA Delhi, PG Photography Design from NID Ahmedabad & UCA Farnham UK. He teaches Design and History at CARE School of Architecture, Trichy. An alumni of the Leon Levy Foundation Centre for Conservation, Maniyarasan works with various government and private organisations and has conducted workshops in heritage documentation with various institutions including CEPT. As a research scholar, Architectural documentation was his primary area of research.

Maniyarasan Rajendran

Documentation & Survey of Painting and Built Heritage

Wendy Rose  is a wall painting conservator with expertise in photogrammetric documentation. She holds an M.A. in Conservation of wall paintings from The Courtauld Institute of Art in London where she researched and developed a 3D digital monitoring technique for wall painting in situ. Wendy has worked as a freelance cultural photogrammetry consultant, providing instruction and assistance on the application of photogrammetry for cultural heritage conservation for the National Park Service, community groups, and the Lunder Conservation Centre. She currently works as freelance wall painting conservator out of Algiers, Algeria and consults for the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Getty Conservation Institute on digital documentation and interpretation projects.

Multispectral Imaging

Sreekumar Menon is a paintings conservator, a partner of the firm Art Conservation Solutions in India and a fellow of The International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works. He has over two decades of experience in managing and participating in notable conservation projects all over the country. He has previously been a part of Conservation Studies at Nagaur, India. He did his Master's in art conservation from National Museum Institute, New Delhi before undertaking internships in paintings conservation at the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), New Delhi, Hamilton Kerr Institute, Cambridge and Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg (SRAL), Netherlands. He holds a doctorate in conservation of wall paintings from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London.

Sreekumar Menon

Handling & Preventive Care of Museum Objects

Girikumar did Masters in Conservation of works of art from the National Museum Institute, New Delhi and then a yearlong Post graduate internship in the Conservation Laboratory of Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Florence, Italy. He has also done specialization in Conservation of Photographic materials from Centre for Photographic Conservation, London. For nearly three decades, he has been working as conservation consultant for several individual and institutional collections. He is regularly invited as guest lecturer and teaches theoretical and practical aspects of conservation to various post graduate courses in India.

Girikumar S

Programme Co-ordinator

Dr. Sunayana Rathore is a Museum professional having in-depth experience of collections management, Museum design and display, research, operations and project planning, she is the curator of the Mehrangarh Museum, Jodhpur and has worked on many aspects including creative planning, design and display, exhibition, preventive care and storage for museum objects ranging from organic material.

 

A graduate from Sophia College, she holds a Masters degree in Heritage Management with specialization in conservation and completed her PhD in Museology from the National Museum Institute. A native from Rajasthan, she likes to work towards preserving the tangible and intangible heritage.
